June - August

How a Woodland takes shape - Past, Present, Future
Learn how the woodlands planted by Moor Trees are taking shape, what biodiversity they are attracting and how this compares to adjacent unplanted grassland and ancient woodlands. See here for survey dates.

Phase I Habitat Surveys
OPAL will be running more training days in Phase 1 Surveying, primarily aimed at Environmental/Biological Sciences looking to get work experience in this valuable survey technique but open to anyone. Contact us for more details

Bats and Meadows in Plymouth
OPAL is currently setting up a survey of bats in Plymouth with Plymouth City Council, to produce baseline data of how bats are using the city, and a grassland survey on some species-rich meadows managed by the City Council. Watch this space!

October - December

Throw Light on Lichens
Lichen surveys around Tamar Valley, Dartmoor and Plymouth to learn how these wonderful organisms can help us build a picture of ammonia pollution. Watch this space!
