Broadley Farm, Diptford, Nr Totnes, TQ9 7NJ.
Our most rural nursery with a view of Dartmoor, Broadley is certainly one of the prettiest and the quietest. Situated on farmland, it was our first tree nursery and is now the largest. The site has wheel chair access, a large work shed for shelter and indoor work, and a compost toilet.
It is the centre for the processing of all Moor Trees’ seed. This is sown on site and the seedlings are transplanted into root trainers and cared for there before being distributed to nursery beds on the other nursery sites in their first winter.
This work is done by our regular Tuesday group of willing volunteers who process the seed and keep the whole site weeded and well organized. We meet from 12.30pm to 5pm and a lift is available from South Brent. This is a very friendly group and new volunteers are welcome to join. For more information please contact Bea on 07855 973726.
